Kamala Das Kamala Surayya - Madhavikutty died

Famous Indian writer Kamala Surayya (Kamala Das / Madhavikutty) died on 31 May 2009. She died at a hospital on Sunday.

Kamala Das / Kamala Surayya was 75 year's old. Madhavikutty passed away at a hospital in Pune.

Kamala Das / Kamala Surayya (Madhavikutty) is a poet & a well known writer. She writes poems and stories (Malayalam & English).

As all knows, Madhavikutty is the pen name of Kamala Das. She accepted Islam religion and got the name Kamala Surayya.

Madhavikutty was born at Trissur, Kerala on 1934. Her death will be a big loss for Indian people, especially for Kerala people.

Heard the funeral of Kamala Surayya will be done with official honours by Government of Kerala.
